Deadline for Poster Submissions
Poster Sessions will be accepted through January 31, 2010.
In order to have your poster session and abstract listed in the on-site
program, the CFP must be received by December 1, 2009.
Carefully read all instructions before completing and submitting this form. (Note: Failure to follow instructions may result in rejection of the proposal.) Questions can be directed to the SCSHA Office
Requirements
for ALL Submissions:
| v | All presenters must pay the presenter convention registration fee to participate in functions and attend sessions. | |
| v | Program Abstract: The Program Abstract Page is the direct copy for printing the abstracts. It should be carefully prepared and proofread. Material will not be edited; therefore, abstracts will reflect your writing skill. The abstract may not exceed 100 words. | |
| v | Learning
Outcomes: Learning Outcomes
describe the skills, knowledge, and/or attitudes that Participants will be
able to demonstrate after the session. Outcomes are written in the format, “Participants
will be able to …” (e.g.,". …

| v | Biographical Sketches of All Presenters: Biographical sketches include the name of the presenters, their affiliations (i.e., practice settings), and a brief description of their qualifications for presenting the proposed session. (Note: Biographical Sketches are not vitae or resumes, but are brief narratives of no more than 50 words.) | |
| v | Instructional Level: All presentations must indicate level of instruction utilizing the following descriptions: | |
| Introductory: | This level assumes little or no familiarity with the literature and professional practice within the areas covered. | |
| Intermediate: | This level assumes general familiarity with the literature and professional practice within the areas covered. | |
| Advanced: | This level assumes familiarity with current literature and professional practice. | |

Equipment Needs: must be indicated on the form below.
Additional AV requests on-site will not be arranged or paid for by SCSHA.
Only those AV items listed on the form will be provided by SCSHA.
Any additional items required will be the responsibility of the
presenter to arrange with the hotel and make payment for.
SCSHA will not
provide
laptops for any presentations or AV equipment for poster sessions. For presentations requiring LCD Projectors, please note that LCD projectors are provided for basic PowerPoint presentations. If you would like to include either sound or video in your presentation, you must contact the SCSHA Office prior to the convention to determine if appropriate equipment is available. All AV requests are subject to approval by the Convention Committee. Approval of AV requests will be provided in the Presenter Confirmation Notification. |

| v | The Program Committee will be guided in the selection of proposals by the following criteria: Quality, Distribution of subject matter, timeliness, popular demand, etc., Program balance (i.e. basic, applied research, poster, sessions, etc.), and Broad-based membership participation. | |

| v | Unless specifically designated, SCSHA programs are noncommercial forums. The inclusion of products, services and materials used for practice and research is encouraged when efficacy is supported by evidence. However, the presentation platform is not intended as a forum for sales or marketing activity. You must disclose any proprietary interest. |

| v | All program presenters are expected to follow accepted procedures to protect human subjects. Such procedures might include possession of evidence of a statement from a Human Service Review Committee authorizing the study as one that adequately protects the human subjects, possession of evidence informed consent and signed release from all subjects or clients approving the use of data or clinical materials for presentation in a public forum (essential for clinical material or presentations involving videotapes), or evidence from written material presented in response to this Call for Papers that would indicate that subject or client identity has been appropriately protected. | |

of Session Types and Specific Instructions for Submission |

| v | Sessions provide maximum flexibility for members and a variety of session types including panels and symposia can be proposed. Presentation can include, but are not limited to: Reports by research teams of long-term and or extensive research programs, Descriptions or demonstrations of innovative clinical or programmatic procedures, Descriptions of approaches to unique problems or populations and Clinical/Professional issues. Time length for a session is 1 hour to 1 ˝ hours. | |
| v | Poster Presentations provide a unique opportunity for dialogue between the presenter and the attendee, and are an excellent format for presenting information that lends itself readily to display. Authors must construct a poster exhibit that can stand alone in conveying information. The completed display should contain the title, author's name, statement of purpose, and if it is a scientific investigation, the principal results. Both content and appearance of posters must be of high quality. Presenters are urged to have additional handout information available for distribution at the poster session. | |

SCSHA will place presenter's handouts on the SCSHA website prior to the convention, and on a CD to be placed in each attendee packet at the convention. The deadline for submission of handouts is January 8, 2010. Handouts must be received via electronic mail to the SCSHA Office, scsha@scsha.com (hard copies and faxes can not be accepted.) Presenters who do not provide handouts to SCSHA prior to this date will be responsible for providing handouts to the attendees. |

Audiovisual Equipment Needs: PLEASE NOTE SCSHA DOES NOT PROVIDE LAP TOPS FOR PRESENTATIONS. Refer to Requirements for Submission for audiovisual requirements. All AV requests are subject to approval by the Convention Committee. Approval of AV requests will be provided in the Presenter Confirmation Notification. AV is not provided for poster presentations. Lap Tops are not provided for any presentations, and audio and video for LCD presentations must be approved by the Convention Committee based on availability of AV equipment. (To select more than one AV, hold down
the Ctrl button while making your selections.) Request for LCD Projectors must complete the following: LCD Projectors are provided for still presentations. If your
presentation will contain audio and video, you must request this on the
Call for Papers. If you do not indicate above the need for audio or video, or contact the SCSHA Office prior to the Convention, SCSHA will not be responsible for your presentation or any additional fees charged by the hotel to ensure your presentation is working properly. I understand that I
must provide my own lap top for my presentation (when requesting an LCD
projector). In a few cases, all of the authors of the proposal cannot attend the convention. Please check if the individual listed will not be able to attend the convention.
