Member Eligibility Members - Professionals who hold a graduate degree with a major emphasis in speech-language pathology, audiology or speech-language or hearing sciences, or a graduate degree and present evidence of active research, interest, and performance in the field of human communication. Associate Member - Must have (1) any level of professional certification awarded by the South Carolina Department of Education in the area of communicative disorders, or (2) a Bachelor’s degree with major emphasis in speech pathology, audiology, language, speech science, hearing science, or speech language and hearing science. Student Member - Students who are pursuing a full course of study in speech-language, audiology, or professionally related area in a recognized college or university and who are interested in promoting the purposes, objectives, and activities of SCSHA. Affiliate Members - Are allied professionals or individuals interested in the areas of language, speech, swallowing and/or hearing. Affiliates will receive SCSHA information through newsletters and will be encouraged to attend annual conference. Affiliate members are not eligible to hold elected office, chair committees/divisions, vote or become life members. Life Members - Members who have held membership in SCSHA for ten (10) consecutive years and have attained the age of sixty-five (65). Life members are granted all rights and privileges awarded Members and annual dues will be waived.
Membership Year Dues are payable in advance for the membership year (January 1 – December 31). For persons joining the Association for the first time, dues paid during the last four months of the membership year shall automatically become the dues for the remainder of the year and for the next membership year.
