2006 Strategic

SCSHA Strategic Plan

It has been three years since our last update of SCSHA’s strategic plan, the Board decided it was time to assess our

progress and determine which areas we wanted to focus for the next several years. The Executive Board reviewed the Strategic Plan at our August meeting and discussed areas that we could delete, areas that still needed attention and new areas that needed to be addressed. We were happy to see that all actions in the last Strategic Plan had been addressed and many objectives had been met. Focus areas that were deemed important to continue included advocacy, member involvement/leadership development, public relations and continuing education/professional development. Areas that the Board decided no longer needed to be addressed or could be folded into other focus areas or into SCSHA’s policies and procedures included membership recruitment/retention, recruiting students into the professions and association governance. The 2009 updated report on the strategic plan with suggestions for changes is now available for review on the SCSHA website. This is another important document on which we need as much member input as possible to make sure the Association is addressing what is relevant and applicable to individuals in all settings of our profession.

Please take a moment to review the new Strategic Plan and provide your feed back.
